Kong Wobbler Review
Here’s our review of the Kong Wobbler, a durable puzzle whose ease of use will make it one of your go-to food puzzles for any dog. We are giving it 5 out of 5 stars! The Kong Wobbler is particularly well suited for dogs who are hard on toys, who eat a dog food that has large pieces, or who don’t like to work too hard on food puzzles. It has a few features that allow it to grow with your dog as they get better at problem solving, so it’s also a good investment early in your dog’s food puzzle journey.

What We Love About the Kong Wobbler
The weighted bottom and beehive shape help it stand out from other dog food puzzles.
It rolls in circles and more slowly, so dogs stay in one place while they solve it better than other puzzles.
It bops around and needs to be moved differently than other rolling puzzles, making it a unique challenge.
The large capacity of the Kong Wobbler makes it easy to add a ball or other object to make it harder for your dog to solve. This makes it a great food puzzle to grow with your dog.
The threads on the Wobbler screw part work more smoothly than other puzzles, which removes a minor irritation when using them.
The hole that the kibble falls out of is on the side, which makes it a lot easier to fill it without having any food drop out.
Both of ours are still in good shape after 3-4 years of use a few times a week including weekly trips through the dishwasher and a number of chewing sessions with Kona.
What We Don’t Love about the Kong Wobbler
The hard plastic may hurt delicate floors, especially if your dog tosses it around or drops it down the stairs, since it’s so heavy.
It doesn’t take that long to solve because the large hole lets kibble out easily.
Tips for Newbies
The Kong Wobbler makes a great first food puzzle for dogs. We recommend giving it to them without the weighted bottom for their first few meals. You want those first few puzzle-fed meals to be easy, successful, and fun.
Once they have learned that the big red thing dispenses food and figured out that they need to move it around to get food to come out, give them their next meal with the bottom attached. If you place it down on its side rather than its bottom, it will help them get food to fall out faster.
Suggestion for Food Puzzle Pros
Once they’ve mastered the technique to solve the Wobbler, add a sturdy ball in with their kibble to slow down the flow.
Conclusion
The Kong Wobbler gets a perfect 5-star rating for its flexibility that makes it work for most dogs and its ease of use that makes it a breeze for humans. The durability and adaptability of it make it a great starter puzzle for people who may not invest in more than a few puzzles.
To be honest, we might not have given the Wobbler such a high rating without my husband, Devin making such a strong case for it. He feels very strongly that the slight improvements in ease of use (easy to fill, easy to screw together, dishwasher safe) make all the difference. If he’s in charge of dinner, there’s a strong chance the dogs will eat from Wobblers that night. So, if you, like Devin, appreciate a smooth user experience, the Wobbler is a great choice.
